About Kat:

Kat is a warm and bubbly Licensed Social Worker who holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago. She is deeply dedicated to offering caring and thorough support to children and teens dealing with various mental health issues. Kat’s practice focuses on providing affirming support through traditional psychotherapy, while incorporating Play Therapy and Executive Coaching skills and interventions. Her primary focus area for support includes individuals experiencing trauma, struggles with relationship and family navigation, self-esteem and confidence difficulties, transitions in school and life stages, as well as challenges faced by queer folks.

Kat centers her work around several evidence-based modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). She values connecting with participants and honest communication, and encourages folks to be proactive about their goals and aspirations.

Kat’s goal is to create a collaborative and empowering environment where clients feel supported, can explore their challenges, celebrate their wins, and reflect on their personal growth. She is currently acquiring her clinical license (LCSW).

Similarly to her professional style, Kat has a “can-do” attitude and embraces creativity in her personal life as well. She enjoys reading, listening to music and live performances, volunteering at animal shelters, and doing activities outdoors. She likes to connect her interests in media, video games, sports, and creative activities to help foster a fun and welcoming environment for all!
